Transactions: 10/24/05-10/28/05

October was a fairly robust trading month, starting out with a TV-fueled bang and moving along nicely after that on the radio side, only to hit a lull in the last full week before Halloween. Two sales involving five top-50 market AM stations provided most of the value.

TV Deal of the Week
SC CP tags along late
The sale of the Liberty television group to Raycom had one final element built in. At the time the transaction was announced, Liberty had a pending CP for a station on the shore town portion of the Myrtle Beach-Florence SC market. It's been granted and duly signed over to Raycom as well, for no additional consideration.

Radio Deal of the Week
One sale, two markets, three stations
Communicom returns to grouphood with a 20M acquisition from James Crystal Enterprises in the week's biggest action. For that amount it gets three AMs - - WLVJ-AM in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton market and KXEG-AM/KXXT-AM, both located in Phoenix AZ.
