Arbitron releases RADAR 91 radio network ratings
Arbitron has released the RADAR 91radio network audience report, covering 9/22/05-9/20/06. As par, ABC Daytime Direction Network took the top slot. RADAR 91 was more difficult report to evaluate overall because of all the anticipated special tabs that have been ordered (every network group but Jones MediaAmerica has requested them) to more accurately reflect recent changes in their affiliations or in Premiere's case, a reconfiguration of some of its networks.
Network radio continues to deliver audiences on a consistent level. This is evident in the fact that only one trendable network in RADAR 91 had a double-digit audience increase and only one had a double-digit audience decrease. Plus, almost three quarters of the trendable networks had audience changes less than 3%.
RADAR's sample was almost 119,000 - the highest ever and increasing even more in future RADARs - provides greater stability, especially for narrower demos like Hispanics and Blacks. There were a total of 56 networks; 43 trendable due to reconfigurations. Overall, Gross Impressions were down 4% for RADAR 91.
ABC RADIO NETWORKS
Gross Impressions: 1.7 billion (-3% less than a year ago)
Share: 12+: 32.7% (31.6% in RADAR 90); more gross impressions than any other network (+27% more than number two)
AMERICAN URBAN RADIO NETWORKS
Gross Impressions: 0.4 billion (decrease of about -13% from a year ago)
Share: 7.3% (7.4% in RADAR 90)
CRYSTAL MEDIA NETWORK
Gross Impressions: 60 million (down -2%)
Share: 1.1% (1.1% in RADAR 89 and 90)
DIAL GLOBAL RADIO NETWORKS
Gross Impressions: 314 million (up +71% from RADAR 90 due to absorbing Digital 24/7 Formats from Westwood)
Share: 5.9% (3.3% in RADAR 90)
Overall: Dial Global Complete FM maintains the #1 ranking for Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.
JONES MEDIAAMERICA RADIO NETWORK
Gross Impressions: 86 million (down -1%)
Share: 1.6% (1.6% in RADAR 90)
Overall: up by +16% from a year ago
PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS
Gross Impressions: 1.4 billion (down -1%)
Share: 25.7% (25.0% in RADAR 90)
Overall: up +18% from year ago
RADAR 91 marks the final reporting survey for Premiere's current 18 network lineup. In RADAR 92 (March 2007), Premiere will introduce a roster of 17 new or target-enhanced networks (Diamond, Diamond Plus, Emerald, Emerald Plus, Evening Adult, Evening Youth, Female Focus, FOX News, Male Focus, Mediabase Female, Morning Drive, Pearl, Pearl Plus, Ruby, Sapphire, Sapphire Plus, Urban).

Gross Impressions: 1.3 billion (down -18% from prior RADAR and -29% from year ago - decreases from prior RADAR partly due to move of Digital 24/7 to Dial Global)
