It was beat the cherub week at the FCC, if you wanted your transaction in the files before the end of 2005. Not many did, with only seven agreements moving eight stations. One of the transactions, however, was for a TV station in Denver, rendering a respectable dollar figure onto an otherwise quiet week.

TV Deal of the Week
Gannett doubles up in Denver
Gannett's Multimedia Holding Corp. is getting KTVD-TV from Twenty Broadcast Inc. for 155M, providing almost all the value for deals filed at the end of 2005. It'll double up with NBC KUSA-TV, and provide some of the programming seen on the seller's KUPN-TV, also in the Denver DMA from its Sterling CO city of license.
Radio Deal of the Week
Davidson strikes again
Peter Davidson's deals are frequent, but not frequently high enough up the ladder to earn Transaction of the Week. But during this slow week, the 2.65M he's spending for WLOU-AM & WLLV-AM in Louisville is plenty good enough. The seller is Mortenson Broadcasting.
