The first week of January's rein as top station trading week of the year was short-lived, as the second week came along an blew it's 51.75M total away. Well, it didn't exactly BLOW it away, but it did take over the top slot with 55.42M in value. 25 stations moved in 13 separate transactions, mostly in the middle of the market pack. On the one hand, only two stations were in the top 50 markets, but on the other, only two were in unrated territory.

TV Deal of the Week
Lockwood moves into WV market
A Portsmouth OH television station which serves the cross-border market of Charleston-Huntington WV is going to Lockwood Broadcasting Inc. for 5.25M. The station carries the CW Network and comes with a pair of LPTVs. The seller is the Commonwealth Broadcasting Group.
Radio Deal of the Week
Clear Channel gets the Point
Or rather, sells to the point, spinning a seven-station Santa Barbara cluster to Rincon Broadcasting LLC/Point Broadcasting Company for 17.3M (at least one AM will have to be resold since the a grandfather clause can't travel). The stations include KIST AM & FM, KTMS-AM, KBKO-AM, KTYD-FM, KSBL-FM & KSPE-FM.
