Media Monitors signs Westwood One

Westwood One announced an agreement with Media Monitors for the deployment of its verification software system to streamline Westwood One's compliance systems. Media Monitors will be continuously recording all rated Westwood One radio affiliates 24/7 and producing live data feeds of station compliance which Westwood One can sort by station, market and/or advertiser via the aircheck.net service of Media Monitors. Initially the service will be launched in the top 40 markets focusing on stations with a minimum rating of a 2 share.

Radio Marti plane may get reassigned to Iraq

The plane used to broadcast Radio Marti to Cuba could be reassigned to Iraq.

The Miami Herald reports that Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), has written Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice with "grave concerns" about reports on the plane. Purchase of a new plane to serve as a mobile transmitter has been held up by a dispute between the State Department, which pays for Radio Marti, and the Defense Department over the cost of the plane, reported The Washington Times.

Latest Jack town: Las Vegas

Infinity blew up AC KMZQ-FM Las Vegas on Friday to launch the company's latest "Jack" station. Despite the format change, Craig Powers will continue as Program Director. Likewise, Tom Humm continues as VP/GM.

CRG announces two new programs

John Clark's CRG Media announced the addition of two new programs to their roster; Celebrity Crime Club, a :90 second daily vignette hosted by Hollywood attorney Brad Pomerance and Olde School House Party, a weekend Urban oldies program hosted by Detroit jock and v/o talent Gerald McBride. Atlanta-based CRG handles Affiliate Relations for independently syndicated programs.

Sirius adds Judith Regan talker

Sirius Satellite Radio announced that publishing powerhouse Judith Regan will create and host The Judith Regan Show, a weekly two-hour talk show that will air exclusively on Sirius Talk Central, channel 148. Regan's show will be a no-holds-barred forum for frank conversations and provocative discussions with a variety of personalities, authors, opinion makers, celebrities and others. The show will highlight a wide range of topics from the world of current events, pop culture, politics, the media, entertainment, health, relationships and more.

Regan is the founder and CEO of ReganMedia, a multi-media company comprised of books, television, film and radio. ReganBooks has published a wide range of authors including award-winning-novelists Wally Lamb (I Know This Much Is True), and Gregory Maguire (Wicked), as well as Howard Stern (Miss America), Sean Hannity (Deliver Us From Evil), Bernie Mac (Maybe You Never Cry Again) and General Tommy Franks (American Soldier).
