Transactions: 5/1/06-5/5/06
Granite was able to respin its television stations in Detroit and San Francisco, and that was just about the entire station trading story for the first week of May. The biggest radio transaction involved noncommercial stations that aren't even on the air yet. There was a top-10 market FM sold, also noncommercial, and with less power than your average LPFM, it didn't exactly fetch a large price.

Big market boulders chipped off Granite
Granite Broadcasting found new buyers for a pair of large-market WB affiliates. D.B. Zwirn & Company will pick up WMYD-TV Detroit (headed for MyNetworkTV) for 85M and KBWB-TV San Francisco (destination unknown) for 65M. An earlier deal for an extra 30M fell through it was announced that WB was merging with UPN.
Radio Deal of the Week
From one religious group to another
A collection of FM CPs are going from Donald Wildmon's American Family Association to Jimmy Swaggart's Family Worship Center Church for 1M, the top transaction in a slow week for radio. The plum is a CP in Panama City FL, along with three more in small Nebraska markets. They're all in the reserved band.
