FCC commissioner Adelstein to keynote at Conclave

In a year where the battle over indecency has been a top story, the Conclave announced FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will participate in an interview and Q&A session to be held at the 30th Annual Conclave Learning Conference on 7/22 at the Marriott City Centre Minneapolis. Commissioner Adelstein will not only discuss indecency but consolidation, technology and payola as well.

Stern cronie gets jail time

Bragging about tax evasion on a national radio show may not be the smartest move a person could make. Lee Mroszak, a frequent Howard Stern guest who goes by the ID "Crazy Cabbie," has been sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to failing to file federal tax returns for three years, beginning in 2001. "When I went on the air that morning and made the comments that have brought me here today, it was never my intention to mock the government," Mroszak said in a letter to the judge who sentenced him.

AWRT Nashville Chapter appoints new board

American Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) has appointed new local interim officers for 2005. Sara Dunn will head the Nashville Chapter. The board members:

Sara Dunn, President, Nashville Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television works locally as a Freelance Voice Talent.

Heidi Raphael, Vice President, is Director of Corporate Communications for Greater Media

Nancy Nikolai, Treasurer, is currently the Outreach Coordinator and a producer at Nashville Public Television, WNPT.

Pam Case, Secretary, is currently Manager, On-Air Talents and Special Projects for Shop at Home Network.

Mary Perren, Corresponding Secretary, is Tennessee Correspondent for Metro Networks/Westwood One Nashville Bureau.

Sirius now available in Toyota, Scion cars

Sirius announced that Toyota is now offering SIRIUS as a post-production or dealer-installed option on select Toyota and Scion vehicle lines. Beginning this month, Sirius will be available in the following 2005 Toyota models:

· Toyota Camry

· Toyota (2005 and 2006) Solara and Solara Convertible

· Scion xA

· Scion xB

· Scion tC
