Transactions: 9/25/06-9/29/06
Nine radio transactions were filed at the FCC during the last week of September, but only one of them got into million-dollar territory. Television was the big story, with a niche group going to a niche operator (see below), along with agreements in Boston and Huntsville.

TV Deal of the Week
Shopping channels get language lessons
Brokered ethnic radio specialist Multicultural Broadcasting entered TV in a big way, getting five stations for 170M. EW Scripps Company spins out of its home shoppers including KCNS-TV San Francisco; WSAH-TV New York/Bridgeport CT; WMFP-TV Boston/Lawrence MA; WOAC-TV Cleveland-Akron/Canton OH; and WRAY-TV Raleigh-Durham/Wilson NC.
Radio Deal of the Week
Another score for Davidson
Davidson Media has been expanding rapidly, but its focus on niche stations rarely puts it at the top of the weekly list. This time, however, thanks to a relatively slow week for radio trading, it earns top honors, spending 2M to get WFNO-AM New Orleans/Norco LA from William M. Metcalf Jr.
