Earnings from all over
Strap on you seat belt as we skim the financial surface for a number of companies, including Salem Communications, Cox Radio, Tribune Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcast Group, NBC Universal and Granite Broadcasting.
* Salem Communications: At its Q2 financial results conference, it predicted Q3 net broadcasting revenue of $46M-$46.5M. It has now revised that up. The old highball figure is now the new lowball figure, with the upside estimated at $47M, representing about a 10% gain over Q3 2003.
* Cox Radio has scheduled its Q3 results teleconference. It'll convene 10/28/04 at 11:00 AM Eastern.
* Tribune Broadcasting has scheduled its Q3 results teleconference for 10/28/04 as well, a couple of hours earlier at 9:00 AM Eastern. Of course, it'll be 8:00 AM Central for the people actually giving hosting the conference from Chicago.
* Sinclair Broadcast Group is pulling back from estimates of a 4%-5% Q3 gain over its $161.3M Q3 2003 earnings. It is now expecting to bank about $163.7, a gain of about 1.5%. It blames, in part, the robust hurricane season in the southeast, where it has eight TV stations. It didn't go so far as to precisely schedule its Q3 conference call, but it is planning to release fgures on 11/4/04 at 7:30 AM Eastern.
* NBC Universal is looking at big gains in 2005, thanks to the merger of two successful companies, according to Reuters. It expects to take 2004 revenues of $12B up to $15B in 2005, with operating profit rising from $2.5B to $3.1B.
* Granite Broadcasting is geared up for its Q3 2004 results session, to be held 11/10/04 at 10:00 AM Eastern.
