Michael Reagan challenges John Kerry to stem cell debate
Citing recent speeches by John Kerry, and a growing perception in the public that the Bush administration has banned stem cell research, Michael Reagan challenged Kerry to a stem cell debate. Reagan issued the challenge this week on his nationally syndicated radio show, and followed up with a letter and phone call to the Kerry campaign headquarters.
Michael Reagan, who sits on the board of directors of a stem cell research group, cited the fact that the Bush administration is the first one to authorize any money for stem cell research, and is in fact the first administration to bypass the previously existing ban on stem cell research.
"The public is being mislead on the issue of stem cell research," he said. "John Kerry is using people like Christopher Reeve to get elected." The message," he said, "is President Bush has grounded Superman."
KY station taken off air by runaway truck
Morganfield, KY stations WMSK-A/FM were knocked off the air when the tower came crashing down around 10:30 PM 10/7. A truck left in neutral rolled down a hill and hit the tower. It all happened just before the end of the Cardinal baseball game they were broadcasting. The stations are in process trying to get back on air. Both need both a new tower and antenna and could be off the air for two weeks or more, with full power expected back in a month or so.
