CC Radio's Hogan holding NAB lunch for talent agents only
RBR hears that CC Radio CEO John Hogan is holding a private, exclusive lunch at the NAB Radio Show just for talent agents. What is the biggest radio company with the largest promotions arm going to communicate there? What's the agenda? Is this monopolistic practice in action? "You throw your talent my way, and I'll do things for them?" Who knows....FYI at the least. Hogan declined to return requests for comment.
XM adds "Satellite Sisters"
XM Satellite Radio announced the addition of ABC Radio Networks' "Satellite Sisters" to the programming lineup for Take Five, XM's recently announced talk and lifestyle channel targeting women. Take Five is scheduled to launch in early October.
Satellite Sisters' weekly three-hour show will be expanded by XM to air six days a week as part of the Take Five programming lineup. Syndicated nationally since 2000, "Satellite Sisters" was created by five real-life sisters - Julie, Liz, Sheila, Monica and Lian Dolan - representing five points of view from three different cities on two continents.
AWRT NY announces 2005-2006 kick-off event
The New York City Chapter of the American Women In Radio & Television (AWRTNYC) will kick off their 2005-2006 Season with a motivational and inspiring evening with "Media Visionary," Emmy Award-winning WABC-TV anchor Lori Stokes on Thursday, September 29 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the ABC Gallery. The 2005 Audrey Tanzer Scholarship, awarded to an undergraduate college student, will also be presented.
Greater Media Boston signs with AP Radio
Four Greater Media owned radio stations in the Boston, MA market are the latest to add Associated Press Radio text and audio services. The stations, WTKK-FM, WROR-FM, WMJX-FM and WKLB-FM are now licensed for the latest news and information including show prep, entertainment news, state and national news, sports, business and weather from AP Radio's NewsPower text service. In addition, WTKK 96.9 FM Talk will be implementing the newly re-launched AP PrimeCuts audio actuality service and AP SoundBank audio archive.
