It was another busy week of trading on the television side, almost as if one-time would-be dealers waiting for regulatory certainty have decided to simply stop waiting. At least one of this week's crop is heading into a local duopoly not through direct ownership but via a shared services agreement. Radio trading was spurred by two FM trades in the top fifty markets, one a move-in and the other a bankruptcy case.

TV Deal of the Week
Upper Midwest is no joke for Hoak
Hoak Media picked up eight Dakota television stations in three markets under flagship/satellite arrangements, four in Bismarck, one in Fargo and three in Sioux Falls. They're coming from a subsidiary of the Wicks Group for 86.8M. Hoak will also get one more to run in Fargo, which is being bought by a friendly company which will turn will sign an SSA with Hoak.
Radio Deal of the Week
Clear Channel moves for move-in
Statesville NC isn't that useful to Clear Channel. But Clemmons NC is. It'll get WFMC-FM into CCU's Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point NC superduopoly cluster, which is why CCU will pay 15.65M to Mercury Broadcasting Company to get it.
