Just a day after NRG Media’s Omaha Sports Talker 1620 The Zone announced it would switch from ESPN Radio to FOX Sports, Journal Broadcast Group has secured the ESPN affiliation for Omaha beginning 2/1 on KXSP-AM Big Sports 590AM.
The new lineup will include ESPN’s weekday talk shows “Mike & Mike in the Morning” from 5–9 a.m. and “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” from 9 a.m.–noon followed by “The Scott Van Pelt Show” from noon–2 p.m. KXSP will use ESPN programming in the afternoon until a locally produced show is finalized.
The station will continue as the radio home of local sports coverage for Creighton Blue Jays Basketball and Iowa Hawkeyes.
