ESPN: Limbaugh to be dumped

ESPN was reporting Wednesday that Rush Limbaugh was being dropped from the group bidding to buy the NFL St. Louis Rams. The report said three NFL sources had confirmed that the leader of the bidding group, Dave Checketts, who already owns the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, has determined that the group cannot win approval from other NFL owners if Limbaugh is included.

The conservative radio host’s interest in becoming an NFL owner had sparked liberal radio host Rev. Al Sharpton to launch a campaign accusing Limbaugh of racist and “anti-NFL” comments.

On the air, Limbaugh has assailed his critics, insisting that the attacks by Sharpton, Rev. Jesse Jackson and others are politically motivated.
