Estrella_tvEstrella TV may have a beef with Comcast, but everything’s coming up roses between the Liberman Broadcasting-owned Spanish-language broadcast network and DirecTV.

Starting Tuesday (Oct. 4), Estrella TV can now be seen across the entire U.S. on DirecTV Channel 442, thanks to a new carriage agreement with the AT&T-owned DBS provider.

“This agreement illustrates Estrella TV’s importance as content provider of relevant and original Spanish-language television programming in the U.S.,” said Cathy Lewis Edgerton, who serves as SVP/Distribution & Affiliate Sales for Burbank, Calif.-based Estrella TV.

Edgerton added that the DirecTV agreement allows Estrella TV “to further invest in its critically acclaimed and original programming strategy as well as build and broaden the network’s brand.”

Emma Brackett, VP of Content and Programming for AT&T, said, “Estrella TV’s popular programming format offers more choices for our customers who enjoy watching Spanish-language channels.”

The new accord comes in sharp contrast to Estrella TV’s ongoing battles with Comcast regarding retransmission fees.
