Eureka! It's a radio station sale

A new FM duopoly is being formed in the Eureka, CA area with the sale of KJNY-FM Ferndale and its translator licensed to Eureka, CA. A sister company to buyer Mad River Radio already owns KMDR-FM Eureka and an LMA of KJNY is now in place.

Mad River Radio, owned by William McCutchen, will pay $300,000 for KJNY. The seller, in the deal brokered by Kalil & Co., is Redwood Broadcasting Company, headed by Pattison Christensen. It also owns a tower company in Eureka.

KYNJ operates on 99.1 MHz with 6kw at 1,716 feet HAAT. Its Eureka translator is on 106.7 MHz with 250 watts.

McCutchen’s Prophecy Media is the licensee of KMDR and four stations in Texas.
