Everybody wants to get in on the act

On Capitol Hill, the two Commerce committees handle most of the caseload when it comes to issues of interest to broadcasters, but every now and then other congressional panels want to play along. That will be happening this Friday, as a subcommittee of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee will take a look at management of the DTV transition. The subcommittee is on Management, Organization, and Procurement, chaired by Edolphus Towns (D-NY) with Brian Bilbray (R-CA) serving as ranking member. It’ll be an intimate affair, as House panels go: the subcommittee only has eight members. And it’ll be accessible to Towns, but for the other members, not so much. The hearing is going to be held at 10:30 AM at the Brooklyn Sports Club. And yes, that venue is in Brooklyn NY.
