Fairbanks cluster goes to a new buyer

The New Northwest Broadcasters radio station group in the Fairbanks AK area was sold by brokerage firm Kalil and Co. in a deal filed with the FCC in December 2010. Now, it’s been sold again to a new buyer.

Robert and Tor Ingstad have formed a new license company to acquire the five-station cluster called Last Frontier Mediactive LLC. They will pay $2.085M for the stations, which include KCBF-AM, KFAR-AM, KWLF-FM and KXLR-FM, all licensed to Fairbanks, and College AK station KTDZ-FM.

The earlier deal, filed with the FCC 12/17/10, has the stations going to Peter Davidson and Russ Jones and their Anchor Radio Inc.

The price has gone up in the interim of the two deal filings – Anchor was only going to pay $1.625M.

The seller in both cases was Revitalization Partners LLC General Receiver, under the TLC of Alan M. Davis, on behalf of New Northwest.

The deal makes the second foray into the former New Northwest portfolio for the Ingstads. They also acquired KLAD AM-FM, KAGO AM-FM, and KYSF-FM in the Klamath Falls OR area from the same seller for $600K in a deal filed 2/7/11. The Klamath Falls agreement was also handled by Kalil. The Instads used licensee name Basin Mediactive LLC in that one.
