Family Research Council running radio flight on abortion

0

Conservative organization Family Research Council is expanding the breadth of its advertising campaign in support of the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act” with a relatively modest radio flight targeting a bipartisan slate of US representatives.

FRC says that the late Henry Hyde kept federal money from going to abortions for 35 years, but was undone by Obamacare. In its ad flight, it actually provides a recording of Hyde discussing his views on the topic in general. The ads are customized to apply to the member representing the districts being targeted.

The beneficiaries of the advertising will be news-talk and religious stations. However, they won’t be getting rich off this one – the total budget is only expected to be in the $20K range.

Six Democrats and six Republicans are included on FRC’s list, including:

Mary Bono Mack (R-CA)

Dennis Cardoza (D-CA)

Jim Costa (D-CA)

Charlie Bass (R-NH)

Richard Hanna (R-NY)

Christopher Gibson (R-NY)

Nan Hayworth (R-NY)

Marcy Kaptur (D-OH).

Jason Altmire (D-PA)

Mike Doyle (D-PA)

Henry Cuellar (D-TX)

Shelly Capito (R-WV)

RBR-TVBR observation: This campaign highlights the affordability of radio, allowing organizations to continue to push their message without busting their budget week in and week out. In this case, FRC can keep the pot simmering without having to dig deep into its advertising warchest.
