FCC Adjusts November Open Meeting Date

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, the FCC had planned to hold its November Open Meeting.

Now that a symposium featuring leaders from the radio and TV broadcasting world is affirmed for Thursday, Nov. 21, the Open Meeting date has been changed.

Now, the next Open Commission Meeting will be held on Friday, November 22 at 10:30am Eastern.

The agenda and public draft documents remain the same.

Among the items on the meeting schedule, as previously noted by RBR+TVBR, are a NPRM that would seek comment on whether to authorize AM stations to transition to an all-digital signal on a voluntary basis; and an NPRM that would seek comment on whether the duplicative programming rule applicable to commonly owned radio stations in the same market should be modified or eliminated given the current broadcasting marketplace.
