It’s a 4,000-watt noncommercial FM serving Western Massachusetts from Springfield Technical Community College and is operated by a volunteer staff of community residents. Much of its shows target a multicultural audience, with Friday afternoon’s programming including Ecos del Ritmo and the “Black Spectrum.”
Also on the WTCC-FM lineup until earlier this month is a weekly program hosted by a Massachusetts state representative. With an election looming, that’s something frustrating his challenger, who has filed a complaint with the FCC seeking his exit — something a candidate for Lee County, Fla., School Board did in exiting the morning show of a popular Top 40 radio station owned by Beasley Media Group.
