FCC considers Hawaii Satellites

TYes / No / Maybehe sale of KITV Honolulu from Hearst to SJL Broadcast Management included two additional stations built to take KITV’s programming to other less-populous Hawaiian islands. The FCC has looked into the sale.


When such a trio is sold, the FCC typically reaffirms that the satellite status of the secondary stations remains in the public interest.
