FCC Economists Study … Economists!


Yes, you read the headline correctly.

You might be tempted to see “Economists at the Federal Communications Commission study economics,” but the topic of study was economists, not economics, notes American Enterprise Institute visiting scholar Mark Jamison.

He writes, “I recently wrote about the return of economic voices at the FCC, which was made possible by the reorganization at the agency, pushed forward by Chairman Ajit Pai, that formed the Office of Economics and Analytics. Now the OEA has released a study appropriately examining the question: Does having an OEA matter?”
