In all, 17.6K checks are going out, totaling $955K, an average of about $54.25 per victim.

Lane Labs-USA Inc. and its president Andrew Lane claimed that its product increased bone density and was on par or better than prescription remedies of the same type in the treatment of osteoporosis.

Lane Labs was found to be in contempt of an order issued in 2000 for similar offenses, when it was advertising the unsubstantiated benefits of alleged cancer cures, including one made out of shark cartilage. A judgment of $1M was levied against Lane in the 2000 case.
