FCC maintains DTV focus

Are you a consumer who is wondering how to go about connecting a digital-to-analog converter box to the analog TV you own and want to keep? Then it’s almost time to march yourself down to Washington DC for the Digital Television (DTV) Consumer Education Workshop being held at FCC headquarters 6/19/08 from 10AM-2PM Eastern. According to the FCC, “Several manufacturers and vendors will display their DTV converter boxes and be available to answer questions about them.” In case you can’t make it there in person, there will be a webcast of the event. Meanwhile, new proposed rules detailing the educational responsibilities of consumer electronics manufacturers, eligible telecommunications carriers and MVPDs have been published in the Federal Register – opening a comment and reply period. The rules are available, using Ctrl/click, at http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-08-119A1.doc.
