FCC punts on Nexstar-TWC signal export dispute

Nexstar Broadcasting GroupA few years back Time Warner Cable introduced a new tactic into the world of hardball retransmission consent negotiation – replacing stations gone dark during an impasse with those of a different owner, serving up the same network but from a different market.


TWC was acting on its belief that since it had retransmission consent with Nexstar stations (and those of another licensee), it could run the programming, even in a different market.
