FCC Ready to Boot an LPTV in Favor of Unlicensed

FCCIn the effort to leave at least one television channel free for unlicensed devices and wireless microphones, the FCC is requiring low power stations to show that their continued existence will not eliminate the last such channel. The NAB called it a matter of “grave concern.”


The FCC issued an NPRM on the matter, with 30- and 60-day comment and reply comment deadlines pending publishing the document in the Federal Register.
