The FCC is seeking public comment on recommendations recently issued by its Downloadable Security Technology Advisory Committee.
The group was organized after passage of the STELAR Act, legislation to sunset the current set-top box security integration ban this December.
In the report, DSTAC urged the commission to review a successor approach to spur the retail market for video navigation devices, not just for cable operators, but also for other MVPDs.
Comments on the report are due Oct. 8 to Docket 15-64.
