FCC Wants Super-Charged EAS

FEMA / Federal Emergency Management AgencyThe FCC wants stations to use all that Emergency Alerting System gear they’ve paid for and installed.

And we’re sure their group executives would like to see that used as well.

To spark wider use of EAS, the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (PSHSB) and the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau plan to host a Webinar on Aug. 27 at 1p.m.

Several case studies are planned on “leveraging the value proposition of EAS and Wireless Emergency Alerts.”

Maine Association of Broadcasters President/CEO Suzanne Goucher is one of the planned speakers.
