FCC’s Next Erasure: The AM Radio Duplication Rule?

Those words from FCC Chairman Ajit Pai open a blog post made Wednesday that provides a transparent, detailed look at what’s on the agenda for the Commission’s Open Meeting for August.

While his comment referred to the “main attraction” — repurposing C-Band spectrum for 5G — there’s two big “media modernization” rule changes up for debate. One involves the sharing of broadcast facilities in certain situations, a rule adopted during World War II. The other involves the radio duplication rule.
