Fed Shutdown Avoided — For Now


U.S. CongressThe House Friday passed a stopgap funding measure for the federal government that averts a shutdown for five days.

Talks will continue Monday on the $1.1 trillion spending plan as well as a separate measure to revive dozens of tax breaks.
