File under fined

The public file of Louisiana State University’s KLSU-FM was missing issues/program lists for most quarters between 1996 and 2001. The omissions seem to be a combination of misplaced lists, and lists never compiled in the first place. An individual named Raymond R. Bigalke got involved in the situation and said the station’s license renewal should be denied. The station was hit with a $10K fine but at least was spared an evidentiary hearing on the Bigalke complaint and did receive its renewal.

RBR/TVBR observation: Every station needs at least two people who know what needs to be done to stay in the good graces of the FCC. This is particularly true at a college station which likely has a large number of inexperienced and transient employees. Adults, it’s your responsibility.
