The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and other major indices were up again Friday and posted their first weekly gain in five weeks. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke didn’t make any specific promises, but traders took his Friday speech as assurance that the Fed would be willing to take further measures to boost the economy. The DJIA ended Friday up 135 points, or 1.2%, to 11,285. Broadcasting stocks had another good day.
The RBR Radio Index was up 2.498, or 0.9%, to 282.898.
The TVBR Television Index was up 20.36, or 1%, to 199.006.
