Fisher-Price and SOMOSTV (Spanish language pay TV producer and distributor) reached an agreement to broadcast Fisher-Price’s Little People content for the newly launched preschoolers channel, “Semillitas.” The Little People brand recently celebrated its 50th anniversary last year.

“Semillitas,” launched in Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., New York, Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley, PA though RCN on March 15.

Said Luis Villanueva, President and CEO of SOMOSTV: “We have a channel that has been created to support Hispanic parents to educate, preserve their roots and language as well as entertain their small children with safe, non-violent content in a loving and caring atmosphere. Our mission statement is shared with Fisher-Price’s by providing young families with the best tools possible to bring up their children. We are proud that this partnership reflects our mutual trust and awareness of the needs of the Hispanic family. The Little People brand represents the values and content that makes it a perfect fit for ‘Semillitas.'”

“Having the series broadly available to Hispanic families with young children is a great extension of our outreach efforts to the community,” says Lisa Mancuso, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Fisher-Price. “The values shared by the Little People character friends should really resonate with the audience and reinforce what parents teach at home.”

SOMOSTV produces and distributes VeneMovies, the 24 hr, commercial free, film channel that programs originally produced in Spanish movies. “Semillitas” is a babies and preschoolers Pay TV channel that broadcasts Spanish language animation, 24 hours a day, and is part of SOMOSTV.
