John McCain (R-AZ) had a good July when it comes to fund-raising, but Barack Obama (D-IL) fared almost twice as well, according to reports. McCain pulled in $27M, and has $21M of that left to spend, while Obama reported collecting $51m with $65M on hand. However, McCain is expected to get a big boost from the Republican National Committee, which picked up $26M and has a whopping $75M in the till. The Democratic National Committee has not yet reported its July results, but of the six national committees, it has been bringing in modest amounts and spending almost all of it for grassroots party-building efforts.
