Foreign Ownership Comments Due Next Month


FCCPublic comments filed with the FCC regarding the agency’s plan to relax foreign broadcast ownership rules are due by Dec. 21.

Reply comments are due by Jan. 20.

Federal Register publication triggered the deadlines.

The commission proposed extending its foreign ownership rules that now apply to common carriers to broadcast owners and is asking for public input on whether and how to revise the methodology a licensee should use to assess compliance with the 25% foreign ownership benchmark.

Comments are to be filed to GN Docket No. 15–236.
