There’s nothing fake about the “foreign” dollars flowing to cable TV for spots promoting a new theatrical release starring venerable action film star Jackie Chan.

The latest Media Monitors Cable Spot Ten report shows promotion for the film’s Oct. 13 opening date in cinemas across the U.S. surged, sending the campaign into the Top 10.

The Foreigner tells the tale of a “humble businessman with a buried past who seeks justice when his daughter [played by Harry Potter alum Katie Leung] is killed in an act of terrorism.” Actor Pierce Brosnan is featured prominently in the previews, and the film’s promotion fueled up in the seven-day period ending Oct. 8, with 18,360 spots tallied by Media Monitors.

That results in a climb from No. 81 in the previous week, to No. 10 this week.

Otherwise, GEICO was No. 1 again, with 50,264 spots, while QSR Burger King stayed at No. 2, with 37,025 ads.

L’Oréal climbed into fourth place, with 31,207 spots.
