Former radio hosts charged with real estate fraud

Former Ventura, CA radio hosts (Gold Coast Broadcasting’s KVTA-AM) Kenneth Powell, Kathryn Rose and Paul Charles Lascola were arrested 8/31 after prosecutors charged them with crimes ranging from real estate fraud, fraudulent land deals and misappropriation of more than $3 million in investor funds.


Each defendant is charged with dozens of felonies. Bail is set at $1 million each.

Powell and Rose were known as “Ken and Katie” when they hosted weekend radio infomercial shows dubbed “Academy of Real Estate,” “Money Intelligence” and “The Ken & Katie Show.”

Listeners were encouraged to attend investment seminars, where they were led to invest in various properties.
