Former TV Reporter Turned House Member Killed In Auto Accident

From 1985 through 1989, she was a television reporter for the CBS affiliate serving South Bend, Ind. Since then, she had served as a Director of Annual Giving at Indiana University South Bend before spending four years in Romania as a Christian Missionary.


Upon her return, she entered politics, easily winning election in 2004 to the Indiana House of Representatives. In 2009, Congressional aspirations came. She lost her first race, but won the second, and became a Member of the House of Representatives in the 2012 elections.

Now, tragically, many across Washington, Indiana and the U.S. are mourning the loss of Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.), who died on Wednesday with two others following a car accident in Elkhart County, Ind.
