Former WFLS host killed walking dog in Virginia

Former WFLS host Brian StrobelThe Spotsylvania County, VA Sheriff’s Office identified a man killed while walking a dog down the road 3/7 as 65-year-old Brian Strobel. Strobel hosted a morning radio show on The Free Lance-Star Publishing’s WFLS-FM in Fredericksburg, VA from 1977 until he retired in 2007.


 “All of our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Brian Strobel. We all will truly miss Brian,” WFLS posted on its Facebook page 3/8.

In a press release, Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Captain Mike Harvey wrote a truck ran off the road in the area of Kingswood Blvd and Harris Mill Ct and struck Strobel. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Harvey said the Nissan pickup truck that hit Strobel “completely left the roadway” before impact.

Harvey said the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
