The Sun-Times News Group reports three crew members and a 14-month-old were killed when a medical helicopter exploded and crashed into a field late Wednesday in suburban Aurora, IL. After the crash, a nearby housing subdivision was evacuated because a portion of a 690-ft. radio tower involved in the crash was unstable (WBIG-AM). WBIG has been pulled off the air, according to station President Rick Jakle and General Manager Steve Marten. Aurora Assistant Fire Chief John Lehman said two of the tower’s guy wires were impacted during the crash and the top 20 feet of the tower were unstable.
