Fox ahead for the full season

Not just the 18-49 demo, either. With the continuing power of "American Idol," following the big Super Bowl ratings, Fox now has the season-to-date lead in total viewership and is nipping at CBS’ heels in Household ratings.

Through 23 weeks of the TV season – 9/24/07 through 3/2/08 – Nielsen shows Fox with a commanding lead in the 18-49 demo, an average 4.3 rating and 11 share, while ABC and NBC are tied for second at 3/1.8 and CBS is right behind them at 3.0/8.

CBS still holds a shrinking lead in HH with a 6.8/11 to Fox’s 6.7/11. That lead could be gone with just another week of Idol-fueled ratings for Fox.

For Persons 2+ Fox averaged 11,450,000 viewers, with CBS at 10,740,000.
