FOX, 'American Idol' what else, winner Thursday

AMERICAN IDOL revealed its Top 13 Finalists last night and led FOX to post the highest rated Thursday night on any network in four years among A18-49 (since 3/8/07) and Total Viewers (since 3/1/07, excluding sports). 


AMERICAN IDOL:  8.1/23, up +13% from last Thursday:
                                         
This is AMERICAN IDOL’s highest-rated Thursday telecast this season among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.

Compared to last Thursday’s performance AMERICAN IDOL grew by +15% among Total Viewers (25.0 vs. 21.8 Mil.).
                    
AMERICAN IDOL is up +29% in Adults 18-49 vs. the comparable telecast last year (8.1/23 vs. 6.3/19 on 3/11/10) and also up +29% in Total Viewers (25.0 vs. 19.4 Mil.)
                                              
So far this season with Comparable Most Current ratings AMERICAN IDOL is retaining 93% of the audience it drew at the same point in the competition last year among A18-49 (8.6/23 vs. 9.2/24) and 99% among Total Viewers (24.5 vs. 24.7 Mil.)

Competition

ABC ran repeats of Winter Wipeout (1.4/4), Grey’s Anatomy (1.2/3), and Private Practice (0.9/3).

CBS aired a Big Bang Theory repeat at 8p (2.5/8) followed by an original Rules Of Engagement (2.3/7), which was down -18% from last week and hit its series low with regularly scheduled originals . Repeats of CSI (1.8/5) and The Mentalist (1.9/5) followed at 9p and 10p.

NBC ran back-to-back repeats of The Office at 8p (1.1/4), 830p (1.3/4), 9p (1.6/4), 930p (1.5/4), 10p (1.4/4), and 1030p (1.2/4).
