Competition
ABC ran repeats of The Middle (1.1/4), Suburgatory (0.9/2), Modern Family (1.3/3), and Suburgatory (1.0/3), followed by coverage of the 2012 Democratic National Convention from 10-11pm (0.9/2).
CBS ran an original Big Brother at 8pm (2.1/6, -9%), followed by a repeat Criminal Minds at 9pm (1.2/3) and coverage of the DNC Convention from 10-11pm (0.9/2).

Following the 2012 NFL Kickoff Party at 8pm (5.5/17), NBC’s NFL Regular Season Game 1: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants posted an 8.7/23 from 8:30-11pm, down from last year’s Game 1 (New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers on Thurs 9/8/11), which posted a 10.2/27 from 8:30-11p in the Fast Nationals before rising to a 10.9/30 from 8:41-11:49p in the Finals.
