Fox combo of 'Human Target' and 'Hell's Kitchen' fourth place

Broadcast television ratings were depressed across the board last night, likely due to the usual decrease in viewing levels as the holidays approach. On FOX, HUMAN TARGET posted a 1.6/5 among Adults 18-49, the same rating as last week.  At 9pm, HELL’S KITCHEN delivered a 2.3/6 among Adults 18-49, down from last week’s telecast (-12%, 2.6/7)

On ABC, The Middle (2.5/7) was down -11% from its last original (11/17/2010) and matched its lowest original performance this season. Better With You (2.2/6) was down -4% week over week. Modern Family (4.1/11) and Cougar Town (2.6/7) both hit season lows, down -15% and -13%, respectively, from their last regular originals. From 10-11p, repeats of Modern Family (1.9/5) and Cougar Town (1.3/4) closed out the night.

On CBS, Survivor: Nicaragua (3.6/10) was flat with last week, while Criminal Minds (3.5/9) was down -8%. At 10p, new series The Defenders (2.0/6) closed the night up +5% week over week but down -13% from its prior season average (2.3/7). Through ten original telecasts, The Defenders is -31% below CSI: NY’s year-ago performance in the time period (2.2/7 vs. 3.2/9).

From 8-10p, night two of NBC’s Sing-Off delivered a 2.6/7, flat with its night two performance last year (on 12/15/2010) and down -7% from its night one performance on Monday (2.8/7). A repeat Law & Order: SVU followed with a 1.8/5.
