Fox cuts back "On The Lot"

Dismal ratings have led Fox to cut the two nights weekly "On The Lot" reality movie making show back to Tuesdays only. The competition between the would-be film makers and the results show will be combined into a single hour each week. That revised plan is supposed to stay in place for the summer, except moving back to Monday one week in July because of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game broadcast. The two-night finale to pick the winner of a one million bucks movie development deal is still set for Monday and Tuesday, August 13 & 14. But if ratings get worse instead of better, we have to wonder whether that finale might end up airing on FX instead of Fox.

But, while Steven Spielberg has bombed in his first attempt at reality television, Fox at least has strong summer ratings to sell on its other reality show, "So You Think You Can Dance." The show, now in its third season, dominated last Wednesday's primetime in the 18-49 demo, then did the same on Thursday.
