Fox Oldies 98.9FM launches in Hudson Valley

Kristina Klebe, President of Hawkeye Communications announced the launch of a brand new, full power FM radio station to serve Dutchess and Ulster County, NY. This is the first launch of a new radio station in the Hudson Valley in over 20 years and historic in that it is the first ever to be owned by a woman.


This is Klebe’s first radio station venture, she’s best known for her acting endeavors playing iconic characters like Lynda in Rob Zombie’s Halloween and appearing on Network Television programs like Criminal Minds and Law & Order.

The new station 98.9 (WGNY-FM) will be known as FOX Oldies and program a mix of the greatest hits of the late 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. In addition the station on-air lineup will feature local – long time Hudson Valley radio personalities including Van Ritshie to host Morning Drive from 6am to 10am. Bob O. from 10am till 3pm and Bob Corsino from 3pm-7pm.

FOX Oldies 98.9 FM will be operated under a management agreement with Sunrise Broadcasting of New Windsor, NY.  Sunrise O&Os five stations; WDLC and WTSX serving Western Orange, Sullivan, Pike, PA and Sussex, NJ.  It also owns WGNY-AM and WJGK-FM in Newburgh, serving Orange, Southern Ulster, Southern Dutchess and Sullivan County.

    I really love this station I listened to it when I was visiting my friend who turned me on to it. However, I live in Carmel NY which is part of putnam county and it does not play down here. Is there another station for putnam county?
