Fox ruled on Wednesday

With the AMERICAN IDOL Top 7 performance show, FOX won last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens, and all key demos. FOX beat the No. 2 network by +96% among Adults 18-49 (vs. 2.4/7 for ABC) and +109% among Total Viewers (vs. 7.9 Mil for CBS).

FOX has now won 14 consecutive Wednesdays among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, and Teens.

  • AMERICAN IDOL: 4.7/13, down -4% from last week’s preliminary ratings (4.9/14) but will likely go up a tenth or two in the finalsthis afternoon.
    • AMERICAN IDOL was up +1% in Total Viewers (16.5 Mil. vs. 16.4 Mil.) vs last week’s prelims
    • IDOL was the #1 program of the night across all key demos and beat the #2 program (Modern Family) by +18% among Adults 18-49 and +63% among Total Viewers
    • Last night’s IDOL beat Monday’s telecast of The Voice for the 6th straight week among Adults 18-49 (+27%) and for the 11th straight week in Total Viewers (+65%)


Following a repeat of The Middle (1.3/4), ABC’s Suburgatory (2.0/6) and Modern Family (4.0/11) delivered their lowest original ratings of the season, both down -5% from last week. At 9:30pm, new comedy Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23 posted a 2.6/7, down -10% from its series premiere last Wednesday (2.9/7). At 10pm, Revenge returned from hiatus with a season-low 2.3/6, down -4% from its most recent original (2.4/6 on 2/29/12).

CBS’ Survivor: One World (2.7/8) was even with last week’s series-low (excluding clip-shows / Thanksgiving). Repeats of Criminal Minds (1.7/5) and CSI (1.5/4) followed at 9pm and 10pm.

On NBC, Betty White’s Off Their Rockers (1.7/5) was up +6%, Best Friends Forever (0.9/3) was flat week over week and Rock Center with Brian Williams (0.7/2) gained +40% from last Wednesday. Closing out the night, Law & Order: SVU (1.5/4) delivered its lowest original rating ever, down -12% from last week (1.7/4).
