FOX series-debut The Finder in third-place

Last night saw heavy competition across the board, as all networks were in originals. FOX aired an original BONES at 8pm, followed by the series premiere of new drama THE FINDER.


BONES: 2.4/6, even with its last original telecast five weeks ago (on 12/8/11)
BONES was up +5% in Total Viewers from its most recent original

THE FINDER (P): 1.7/4, against heavy drama competition in the hour but was relatively stable from its first half hour to its second (1.7>1.6)

Note: This is the first drama that FOX has premiered on a Thursday in six and a half years (since Reunion on 9/8/05)

THE FINDER returns with an AMERICAN IDOL lead-in next Thursday

Competition
On ABC, week two of Winter Wipeout (2.2/6) dropped -19% from its premiere last Thursday (2.7/8). Grey’s Anatomy (3.8/9, down -16%) and Private Practice (2.4/6, down -11%) were both down from their last telecasts.

Following an original Big Bang Theory (5.2/15, up +13%) at 8p, new CBS comedy Rob premiered with a 4.1/11 at 830p. Person Of Interest (3.2/8) was up +14%, while The Mentalist (2.7/7) was flat with its last original four weeks ago.

On NBC, 30 Rock (1.8/5) launched its sixth season with its lowest premiere ever, down -31% from its season five debut last fall (2.6/8 on 9/23/10). Parks & Recreation (1.9/5, up +6%) was about average, while The Office (2.9/7, flat) matched its lowest original rating ever on a Thursday. Up All Night premiered on its new night with a 2.0/5, up +5% from its last original. New drama The Firm followed with a 1.0/3 at 10p, down -29% from its series premiere on Sunday (1.4/3).
