Fox slaps Treasury with lawsuit

Fox Business Network would like to know where bailout money is going and what its being used for, so it can report same to its viewers, but is being stonewalled by the United States Treasury Department (join the club). It’s been trying to get action on an expedited Freedom of Information Act request dating back to 11/25/08 without success, so now it’s taking matters into the court system.

Fox News EVP Kevin Magee said, "The Treasury has repeatedly ignored our requests for information on how the government is allocating money to these troubled institutions. In a critical time like this amidst mounting corruptions and an economic crisis, we as a news organization feel it’s more important than ever to hold the government accountable."

RBR/TVBR observation: Maybe things will change after 1/20/09, but we expect the current leadership at Treasury to simply run out the clock on the FBN request.
